Method for automatic generation of photographic prints from digital data in which input image data is subjected to mandatory and optional processing steps prior to output of the final photographic prints. The processing sequence for print jobs in altered for the subsequent processing steps if the imaged data is to be subjected to time consuming processing steps. An independent claim is made for a device for automatic production of photographic prints from digital image data.
