PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient conversion with a wide bandwidth even when connecting a waveguide having a rectangular cross section on its narrower wall. SOLUTION: A microwave antenna is equipped with a waveguide 4 whose cross section is rectangular having two narrow walls 5, 11 and a wide wall 63. The waveguide 4 is coupled to a microwave converter 10 toward one terminal so that a coaxial connector can be coupled to the waveguide. The converter 10 includes conductors 13, 21 which extend through the narrow wall 11 to be internally connected to a conversion plate 23. The plate 23 extends in the lengthwise direction in the middle along the waveguide and is made to provide a 1/4 wavelength block in a step form. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
