PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ketol and a conjugated diene having a high value of utilization useful as a starting raw material for useful chemical substances, having a preferable cost, operation and environmental loading. SOLUTION: The method for producing the aldol reaction product comprises cationically reacting a ketone compound represented by general formula (3) (R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-6C alkyl group which may contain a substituent group or a phenyl group which may contain a substituent group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-6C alkyl group which may contain a substituent group or a 2-6C alkenyl group which may contain a substituent group; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a 1-C alkyl group which may contain a substituent group or a phenyl group which may contain a substituent group) with an aldehyde compound represented by general formula (4): R<SP>3</SP>CHO in the presence of a basic catalyst in a solid state.
