PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an electronic appliance, capable of high-speed and reverse reproducing of the contents data recorded in a recording medium using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The electronic appliance is provided with a storage medium for dividing the contents data into cluster units and storing them, a link information table for recording the link structure of a cluster in the storage medium, a cluster table in which the cluster number of the cluster of each prescribed interval among a series of clusters constituting the contents data recorded in the recording medium is recorded, and a reproducing means for reading the contents data recorded in the recording medium by the cluster unit and reproducing it. When the cluster number of a desired cluster desired to read is not recorded in the cluster table, when the reproducing means reversely reproduces the contents data, the cluster number of the desired cluster is obtained by following the link information table from the forward cluster of the target cluster among the clusters recorded in the cluster table, and a cluster indicated by this cluster number is read from the storage medium.
