Sensor (56) for measuring at least a parameter of a component has a signal recorder (54) and a signal generator (62). The signal generator is geometrically shaped so that signals are generated that can be used to measure the axial displacement and rotational velocity of the signaler relative to the recorder. An independent claim is made for a motor vehicle friction coupling which has an arrangement for measuring the axial displacement of the coupling and its rotational velocity.
