PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irreversible circuit element which is suitably made small-sized and low-cost and efficiently radiates heat generated by a terminating resistance to the outside, a mounting structure for the irreversible circuit element, and a communication device. SOLUTION: A lumped constant type isolator 1 is principally equipped with a metal case comprising an upper metallic case 4 and a lower metallic case 8, a center electrode assembly 13 comprising a ferrite 20 and center electrodes 21 to 23, and a rectangular laminated substrate 30 which internally has the terminating resistance R and a matching capacitor and from which a terminal electrode 16 for external connection projects. When the laminated substrate 30 is characterized in that at least a portion of a ground terminal electrode for external connection which is formed integrally with the laminated substrate 30 overlaps with a projection range of the terminating resistance R or a range of a prismoid which includes the terminating resistance R as a crest surface and has a 45°slope angle in plane view.
