PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive that can reduce heat generated by a stepping motor more than before, and also suppress the drop of the vibration performance. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive 100 has an optical pickup 140, a stepping motor 190 having coils 191, 192, 193, 194 for driving the optical pickup 140, an acceleration sensor 210, a power supply 200 and a CPU 300 for supplying power to the coils 191, 192, 193, 194 of the stepping motor 190 and for controlling the stepping motor 190. When making the stepping motor 190 stop, the power supply 200 and the CPU 300 decide on the amount of the current supplied to the coils 191, 192, 193 and 194 of the stepping motor 190 depending on the vibration amount detected by the acceleration sensor 210.
