PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid coupling capable of effectively reducing the drag torque without sacrificing the transmission torque. SOLUTION: The fluid coupling comprises a pump having an annular pump shell having an annular core ring fitted to a pump hub and a plurality of impellers disposed radially in the pump shell, and a turbine having an annular turbine shell having an annular core ring which is disposed facing the pump and fitted to a turbine hub relatively rotatable to the pump hub, and a plurality of runners disposed radially in the turbine shell. The turbine shell is slidable to the turbine hub in the axial direction, and has a centrifugal urging means to press the turbine against the pump side by the effect of the centrifugal force accompanied by the rotation of the turbine.
