PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing mechanism capable of easily preventing lubricating oil from leaking by reducing the amount of the lubricating oil contained in a sleeve. SOLUTION: This bearing mechanism 2 comprises a shaft part 21 having a thrust plate 211 and the sleeve 22 formed of a porous material impregnated with the lubricating oil. A flange-shaped thrust part 222 opposed to the thrust plate 211 is formed on the sleeve 22. Thus, the wall thickness of the cylindrical part 221 of the sleeve 22 can be reduced, and the amount of the lubricating oil contained in the sleeve 22 can be reduced. As a result, the effective length of the bearing mechanism 2 must not be shortened for the installation of an oil buffer, and the lubricating oil can be easily prevented from leaking without lowering the performance of the bearing mechanism 2.
