摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode junction and a manufacturing method thereof, capable of effectively avoiding reduction of performance of the junction and reduction of a lifetime by eliminating or reducing extremely the number of minute unevenness that it has been considered to naturally exist on a surface of a catalyst layer formed by ink containing a catalyst material carrier, thereby preventing the electrolytic membrane from being damaged by the unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: A carrier is crushed before preparing the catalyst-carrier-containing ink composed of a catalyst material, a carrier and a solvent. The ink is prepared by using the crushed carrier, furthermore, filtering the ink or adding a shredding step for the ink, if necessary, and eliminating agglomerates (catalyst lumps) included in the carrier in the ink or in the catalyst carrier, and after that, the electrolyte membrane is coated with the ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
