PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which covers from a super wide angle area to a super telephoto area such that the angle of view is≥67°at a wide end and is≤1.6°at a telephoto end and has a zoom ratio such as about 40, whose various aberration is excellently corrected and which is good in mass productivity. SOLUTION: The zoom lens is constituted of a first lens group Gr1 having positive refractive power, a second lens group Gr2 having negative refractive power and made movable in an optical axis direction mainly so as to perform zooming (variable power), a third lens group Gr3 having positive refractive power, a fourth lens group Gr4 having negative refractive power and made movable in the optical axis direction so as to correct the fluctuation of a focal position in zooming and also perform focusing, and a fifth lens group Gr5 having positive refractive power arrayed in order from an object side. The first lens group has a doublet T1 consisting of three lenses obtained by putting a lens L6 made of special low-dispersion glass in between right in the middle of a concave lens and a convex lens arrayed in order from the object side at least by one.
