PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a set value of a PCR from being rewritten to an illegal value by causing failure in locking again during a retrial of the same update data in the case of failure in locking in a first trial of a lock transaction at a response side node. SOLUTION: The response side node of the lock transaction of a system wherein a plurality of nodes are connected to a serial bus detects the lock transaction from received data (S1), detects individual set value data for bus use control from the lock transaction (S2), determines whether the individual set values are proper (S3), performs update processing when the individual set values are proper to generate response data including real data before update (S5), but does not perform the update processing when the set values are not proper and generates response data including altered data obtained by altering the data of a predetermined field in the real data (8), and sends the response data to a connection request side node.
