PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator with a compressor, an evaporation pan and a blower in a machine room located at the rear-side lower part of a box, the evaporation pan being arranged above the compressor with its almost central bottom face in a protruded shape for improved evaporating performance and reduced size. SOLUTION: The evaporation pan 17 is placed above the compressor 5 on the downstream side of the blower 4 in the machine room 2. It has a planar water absorber 19 extending to the vertical direction to cover it along the bottom face 18 in the protruded shape. Upward-through vent holes 23, 24 are provided at a boundary between a shallow bottom portion 21 and a deep bottom portion 22 of the bottom face 18 in the protruded shape on the downstream side in a blowing direction or close to a back cover 7 along the blowing direction.
