<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thrombogenic inhibitor or a platelet aggregation inhibitor and a functional food usable for prophylaxis of diseases caused by thrombosis. <P>SOLUTION: The thrombogenic inhibitor or platelet aggregation inhibitor comprises proanthocyanidin and the functional food comprises the drug. Proanthocyanidin derived from grape seeds are preferably used as the proanthocyanidin. A pharmaceutical preparation and the functional food can be used for treatment or prophylaxis of diseases associated with circulatory failure or vascular occlusion due to thrombosis, e.g. cerebrovascular diseases such as cerebral infarction, cerebrovascular dementia or transient cerebral ischemic attack, ischemic heart diseases such as myocardial infarction or angina pectoris or peripheral diseases such as chronic artery occlusion, intermittent claudication, numbness of limbs, hypacusia or pain.
