PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user of a vehicle to confirm an empty space in a parking lot in the vehicle stopping state without requiring a large-scale facility, and also to contribute to reduction in the risk of accidents in the parking lot. SOLUTION: In this system for connecting the own vehicle to a plurality of other vehicles so as to be mutually communicable in the parking lot, vehicle body width data of the own vehicle are transmitted from the own vehicle laid in the stopping state (S2), and detection data instructing the vehicle position and lateral empty space distance detected in each of other parked vehicles are transmitted, in response to the data, from the vehicle concerned (S3). In the own vehicle, mapping processing is performed for the position and empty space layout of the vehicle concerned on the basis of the received detection data (S4), and an empty space for parking is retrieved from the processing result (S5, S6, and S8-S10), and the retrieved information is displayed on a screen (S7).
