PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily and efficiently remove the clogging of a catalyst layer without the destruction of this catalyst layer by spraying a compressed gas including at least one kind of cleaning materials selected from chaff, buckwheat husks, bark, walnut shells, coffee bean shells and grain powder to the catalyst layer. SOLUTION: The air compressed by a compressor 1 is discharged to a piping 5 and after the air is heated by an electric heater 2 in mid-way, the cleaning materials supplied from a cleaning material tank 3 are entrained in this air when the clogging generated in the catalyst layer 8 is removed at the time of removing NOX and SOX from the waste gases 9 from a boiler. The compressed air contg. such cleaning materials is injected to the catalyst layer 8 from an injection nozzle 6 to eliminate the clogging. At least one kind selected from the chaff, buckwheat husks, bark, walnut shells, coffee bean shells and grain powder are used as the cleaning materials to be used. The compressed air to be used together with the cleaning materials is regulated to the pressure within a range of 2 to 4kg/cm<2> . |
