Web securing system for laser processing

The system (10) for laser processing webs includes a laser system having a beam source (12), a controller and one or more heads (14) to direct a laser beam (16) onto a web (18). A cylinder (20) capable of controlled rotation applies a web-securing force to the web (18) under the laser beam (16) to secure the web so that the web does not flutter or shift during laser processing. A template may be placed over the cylinder (20) to apply the web-securing force in specific patterns or areas as needed.
