PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head unit, an ink jet printer having the same and a method of assembling the ink jet head unit wherein multiple ink jet heads can be readily and accurately mounted on the printer. SOLUTION: In the ink jet head unit 21 for color printing, an ink nozzle array group 46 consisting of a plurality of color ink nozzle arrays which are used for printing one line and correspond to basic colors are formed by multiple ink jet heads 22. The multiple ink jet heads 22 are divided into a plurality of head groups 48 each consisting of the plurality of ink jet heads 22, each head group 48 is mounted on a partial carriage 43, and the plurality of partial carriages 43 are mounted on an integrated carriage 42. |
