PURPOSE: An optical fiber light guide sheet, and a backlight unit using the same are provided to minimize the thickness of a backlight while displaying high definition, high intensity, and accurate images, and display images on both sides. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit is formed of a light guide sheet(200) and diffusion sheets(300), installed inside a case of hardware by interposing a panel. The light guide sheet has a plane sheet woven by optical fibers used as woof and warp, wherein clad is laminated at the outside of a core. Top ends of protruded parts protruded on upper and lower surfaces of the plane sheet are cut to form a plurality of light emitting planes. The diffusion sheets are laminated at the light guide sheet for diffusing light in response to the light emitting planes.
