PURPOSE: A core is provided to reduce the height of the core without causing changes in surface area, and reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating the need of manufacturing coil bobbins for AC and DC, respectively. CONSTITUTION: A core comprises a fixed core(5) and a movable core(6). The fixed core includes a first fixed core unit and a second fixed core unit. The first fixed core unit is formed by stacking a plurality of first fixed core pieces(50). Each of the first fixed core pieces includes a horizontal portion(50a), an inner vertical portion(50b) formed integrally with the middle part of the horizontal portion and accommodated into a coil bobbin, and an outer vertical portion(50c) formed at both ends of the horizontal portion. The second fixed core unit is formed by stacking a plurality of second fixed core pieces(51). Each of the second fixed core pieces includes a horizontal portion(51a), and an outer vertical portion(51c) formed at both ends of the horizontal portion. The movable core is movable to the positions approaching/disappearing from the fixed core in accordance with the magnetization of the fixed core.
