PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can bottom chuck capable of preventing disturbance in the attitude of cans during the conveyance, and occurrence of mechanical troubles caused by the disturbance in the attitude. SOLUTION: This can bottom chuck is used for an optical inspection device in which cans 20 continuously fed from an in-field chute 4 are successively received by each recessed portion 3 of a star wheel 2, the received cans 20 are sequentially carried to an inspection unit 7 by the rotation of the star wheel 2, the cans are sequentially inspected by an inspection means at the inspection unit 7 to determine acceptance/rejection, and the accepted cans are carried to a discharge chute 5 by the rotation of the star wheel 2, and discharged outside via the discharge chute 5. A fan-shaped spindle face 12 having a bottom area larger than that of the can 20 which is provided on a portion corresponding to each recessed portion 3 of the star wheel 2 and abutted on a bottom portion of the can 20 received by each recessed portion 3 to support the can 20 is provided on the can bottom chuck.
