<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain high-quality treated water by nitrifying and denitrifying ammonia-containing water by making effective use of ANAMMOX bacillus while reducing the treatment cost. <P>SOLUTION: A biological membrane double structure is formed in a nitrification tank 1, by which an inclusively ANAMMOX bacillus-immobilized gel, an ANAMMOX (independently nutritive denitrification) bacillus-self-granulated material or an ANAMMOX bacillus carrying carrier having ANAMMOX bacillus on the surface is held and the outer periphery of which is covered with an ammonia oxidizing bacterium. The nitrite nitrogen produced by the ammonia oxidizing bacterium existing on the outside of the biological membrane double structure and the ammonia nitrogen remaining in the ammonia-containing water are decomposed into nitrogen by the ANAMMOX bacillus existing on the inside of the biological membrane double structure in an anaerobic atmosphere. As a result, the oxygen amount and the chemical usage equivalent to the amount of the ammonia to be decomposed by the ANAMMOX bacillus can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
