PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming pre-molded article used in producing a lightweight fiber reinforced foamed plastic molded article and to provide a lightweight and strong fiber reinforced foamed plastic molded article using the same. SOLUTION: The foaming pre-molded article comprises a sheet or a bulk comprising (A) a matrix resin, (B) a reinforcing fiber and (C) a thermal expanding microcapsule, wherein a liquid thermosetting resin is used as the matrix resin (A), and the foaming premolded article is cured by heating to give the fiber reinforced plastic molded article.
