<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety system embedded or integrated functionally and logically in/with a process control system in a process plant. <P>SOLUTION: In this safety system which is provided with computers, a process control system controller connected to be communicated to the computer for executing a control function using a process control field device, a safety system controller connected to be communicated to the computer for executing a safety system function using a safety field device, and a diagnostic application on the computer, the diagnostic application has a communication routine constituted to communicate a process control system message and to communicate a safety system message, and a common communication format having a field for discriminating both is used therein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
