PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant property evaluation method for more accurately evaluating antioxidant power exhibited by a tested substance in an vegetable cell. SOLUTION: This antioxidant property evaluation method comprises a first step of causing plant tissues to absorb a tested substance, and then causing them to absorb an easily reducible substance, and measuring luminescence owing to generated active oxygen species, a second step of causing the plant tissues to absorb the easily reducible substance without causing them to absorb the tested substance, and measuring luminescence owing to generated active oxygen species, and a third step of evaluating whether or not the tested substance has antioxidative property by comparing the intensities of luminescence respectively obtained in the first and second steps.
