PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of receiving and printing data in file forms other than print data in the PJL-PDL form and a technique of easily faxing a document file. SOLUTION: A file reception section 112 receives a desired document file. An image processing section 150 converts the received file into a bit map image on the basis of a file form of the document file. When the document file includes destination information, the image processing section 150 provides an output of the bit map image to an encoding section 108. Then a transmission reception section 102 faxes the bit map image Fax-encoded by the encoding section 108. When the document file includes no destination information, the image processing section 150 outputs the bit map image to a print section 106. The print section 106 prints out the bit map image.
