PURPOSE: An image pickup module in a wireless communication terminal and an image processing unit using the same are provided to process a moving picture for image communication at a small wireless communication terminal, such as a portable phone, etc., at high speed and to improve the compatibility between an image pickup module and an image processing module. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup module(10) in an image processing unit installed at a wireless communication terminal is comprised of an image sensor(62), an encoder(12), and a memory buffer(14). The encoder(12), connected to the image sensor(62), compresses the image data detected by the image sensor(62) into a moving picture signal. The memory buffer(14), connected to the encoder(12), temporarily stores and outputs the compressed moving picture signal.
