PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device which prevents a detection switch from being damaged. SOLUTION: The detection switch SW and a cassette holder 10 are arranged on a main chassis, and a cassette housing chamber 19 into which a disk cassette DK is inserted is constructed in the cassette holder 10. A pair of left and right cassette guiding parts 20a and 20b are provided at an entrance to the cassette housing chamber 19 and at the main chassis 3a side. A hole 21 for allowing the detection switch SW to advance is formed at the cassette guiding part 20a being one of the guiding parts, and a cassette insertion side of the hole 21 is made narrow so as to prevent a corner part 1a of the disk cassette DK from advancing.
