PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a display device with which substrates are excellently parted by surely keeping a distance between neighboring parting lines in parting the substrates even when a picture frame is increasingly apt to be narrowed, and also to provide the display device. SOLUTION: A plurality of circuits 20 and a plurality of terminal parts 22 are formed on the surface of a first substrate 19 so as to make the two terminal parts 22 connected to each of the two adjacent circuits 20 respectively be opposite to each other. The surface of the first substrate 19 on which the circuits 20 and the terminal parts 22 are formed and the surface of a second substrate 11 are bonded together holding a predetermined gap. The bonded substrates are parted with respect to each empty panel 1' including one of the circuits 20 and the terminal part 22 to be connected to the one circuit 20. A liquid crystal panel is obtained by injecting liquid crystal between the first substrate 19 and the second substrate 11 of each empty panel 1' so as to form a liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal display device is obtained by mounting a driving circuit on the terminal part 22 of the liquid crystal panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
