PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which suppresses filming and occurrence of streaks due to peeling of a carrier coating resin, is free of deterioration of chargeability and developing performance of toner, can ensure good image quality over a prolonged period of time, and can obtain a full color image excellent in low temperature fixability and having a high image gloss, a high coloring state and high image quality, even in a small-size high-speed trickle developing system, and to provide a developer for replenishment and a developer cartridge for replenishment. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, image formation is performed with an image forming apparatus using a trickle developing system, a carrier content of the developer for replenishment is in a range of 1-50 mass%, a volume average particle diameter of the carrier is in a range of 30-60μm, and the toner used in the image forming method comprises at least a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent and satisfies specific conditions.
