PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the backward movement of a vehicle when resetting a neutral control. SOLUTION: When the conditions of the vehicle being stopped are established at a forward travel position where braking operation is performed instead of accelerating operation, an ECT_ECU 1020 executes neutral control for releasing an input clutch 310. It includes a circuit for calculating a target speed difference to be larger between an engine speed and a turbine rotating speed as the gradient of an uphill slope is greater where the vehicle is stopped, and a circuit for making the input clutch 310 slip with feedback control of the engaging pressure of the input clutch 310 corresponding to the target speed difference.
