PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tray for a disk device, which is capable of taking a disk in and out a disk device smoothly while preventing injury on a recording surface of a disk without using specific production apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for producing a tray for a disk device comprises a process of preparing a molding material composed of an ABS resin having a melt flow rate of 60-70 g/10 minute, which is a measure of fluidizability upon melting, and a process of injection molding with the use of the molding material under the conditions including an injection pressure of (1078-1373)×10<SP>5</SP>Pa, a primary molding pressure of (490-686)×10<SP>5</SP>Pa and a secondary molding pressure of (490-686)×10<SP>5</SP>Pa to give a tray for a disk device having a thickness of 1-3.2 mm.
