<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head, for lengthening carry by forming a sand removal slit in a face surface not to scoop up sand as much as possible in hitting a ball. <P>SOLUTION: The face surface 11 of a head 10 is provided with a plurality of l sand removal slits formed lengthwise at small spaces in the longitudinal direction. The face surface 11 is provided with a plurality of projecting pieces 11a partitioned by sand removal slits 12. A taper part 13 is formed integrally with the sand removal slit 12. The taper part 13 is formed deeper than the face surface 11 as it approaches the sand removal slit 12. In the thus formed golf club head, in hitting the ball, sand (a) in a part corresponding to the sand removal slit 12 out of the sand abutting on the whole of the face surface 11 as before passes through the sand removal slit 12 without coming into contact with the face surface 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
