PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink for a ballpoint pen, having viscosity reduced by shear, and further having the reduced paralysis of olfaction which is a side effect of a eucalyptus oil while keeping the effects such as antiinflammatory, paregoric and antipruritic effects by the eucalyptus oil. SOLUTION: The water-based ink for the ballpoint pen, having the viscosity reduced by the shear, is obtained by adding the eucalyptus oil, a peppermint oil and a surfactant.
