PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily operated hoisting device for a gravity descent type shutter. SOLUTION: The hoisting device 1 comprises a transmission mechanism 2 for transmitting rotation to a winding drum 42 of the shutter 40; a frame body 5 for supporting the transmission mechanism 2; a drum 15 rotatably supported to a support shaft 8 supported to the frame body 5 and connected to the transmission mechanism 2 through a clutch 10; a pull cord 20 of prescribed length with one end locked and wound on the drum 15; a clutch operating means 25 for fitting the clutch 10, interlocked with operation of pulling out the pull cord 20; a rewind energizing means 21 for the pull cord 20 accumulating energizing force by the rotation in a direction of pulling out the pull cord 20 of the drum 15; and a separation energizing means 13 for the clutch 10. A shutter body 41 is wound by repeating the operation of pulling down the pull cord 20 hanging from the hoisting device 1 and the operation of slowing down the pulling force to rewind the pull cord 20 to the drum 15.
