PURPOSE: An engine switching apparatus for starting and stopping an engine in a vehicle is provided to consult a user's convenience by using a key cylinder and a push button switch. CONSTITUTION: An engine switching device includes a key cylinder and a push button. The key cylinder(10) includes a key slot(11). The push button switch(30) is pushed to stop or start the engine. In the engine switching device, the push button switch includes a push button(31) surrounding the key slot. The key slot receives a mechanical key(40) having a transponder(42). The push button includes a communicating unit(34) that communicates with the transponder of the mechanical key.
