ENZYMATIC PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS FROM CITRUS-PEEL

PURPOSE: An enzymatic process for manufacturing biological products from citrus-peel is provided, thereby easily separating biological products from citrus-peel with a reduced amount of solvent, so that environmental pollution by waste solvent can be prevented. CONSTITUTION: The enzymatic process for manufacturing biological products from citrus-peel comprises the steps of: seed culturing Bacillus licheniformis in LB medium containing 1 wt.% of tryptone, 0.5 wt.% of yeast extract and 0.5 wt.% of sodium chloride for 12 hours; inoculating the seed cultured medium into the LB medium containing 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of citrus-peel and tryptone in 100 parts by weight of water and culturing it to separate pectin from the citrus-peel; centrifuging the pectin containing medium to remove microorganism and cellulose type dregs from the medium; and collecting the supernatant and separating oils from the supernatant with ethanol, wherein the biological product is diet fibers, bioflavonoids and probiotics-containing feedstock; and the cellulose type dregs are used as feed.
