PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition containing a compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a method of using the compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE) type IV or production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) in a mammal, and to provide an intermediate useful for preparation of the compound. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition contains the compound expressed by the formula I or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. (In the formula I, R is a phenyl group, R1is a 1-9C alkyl group, R2is a phenyl, naphthyl, pyrrolyl, furanyl, thienyl, oxazolyl, pyridinyl, pyrimidinyl, pyridazinyl. quinolinyl, isoquinolinyl, 5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydroquinolinyl or 5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydroisoquinolinyl).
