PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing the odor of dehydrated sludge cake by which the odor derived from hydrogen sulfide, methyl thioalcohol, ammonia, amine, and the like generated from the dehydrated sludge cake in a sewage-treatment plant, a night soil treatment plant, and the like is effectively suppressed for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The dehydrated sludge cake is obtained by dehydrating sludge slurry. The method for suppressing the odor of the cake comprizes adding nitrite, and pyrithione or its derivative to the dehydrated sludge cake. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
