PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an electronic equipment such as a digital camera thinner in shape, and to increase a battery capacity. SOLUTION: An image pickup device formed into a nearly rectangular parallelopiped as a whole is constituted of a device main body having an image pickup function and a nearly parallelopiped battery unit attachably/detachably loaded to the device main body. At least three surfaces of the battery unit constitute the outer surfaces of the image pickup device when the battery unit is loaded to the device main body. Besides, it is allowed to constitute the image pickup device of the device main body having the image pickup function and several kinds of battery unit groups selectively and attachably/detachably loaded to the device main body. In this case, the battery unit group includes at least two battery units. As for one of the battery units, each surface exposed outside the device when the battery unit is loaded to the device main body is formed so as to be nearly at the same level as that of the outer surface of the device main body.
