PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam erection method eliminating removal work for an erection beam. SOLUTION: The beam erection method for erecting permanent beams 11 and 12 by providing the beam 12 on a pier 1 comprises a first beam erection process erecting the permanent beam 11 by using the beam 12 as the erection beam and a second beam erection process erecting the beam 12 used for the erection beam as the other permanent beam in the same work. A beam erection device 13 used for the first beam erection process is used to carry out the second beam erection process. Outside width dimensions of a pair of right and left beams 12 erecting as the permanent beams are narrowed to inside width dimensions of a pair of right and left beams 12 used for the erection beams.
