PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect loss of synchronism of a stepping motor in a slot machine using a stepping motor as a driving source for driving a rotary reel to rotate. SOLUTION: When a start lever is operated by a game player (YES in #10), the stepping motor is started (#12), and in the lapse of designated acceleration time, it is held at a fixed rotating speed. When the acceleration time is ended (YES in #14), it is discriminated whether the loss of synchronism is caused in the stepping motor or not (#16). When detection of loss of synchronism is discriminated (YES in #16), a stop lamp is extinguished when it is lighted (#20), and the stepping motor is restarted (#22). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
