<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain water-swellable polyurethane foam equipped with resistance to a water-soluble chemical, especially to a hypochlorous acid solution and an alkali solution. <P>SOLUTION: In the polyurethane foam obtained by reacting (a) an isocyanate compound with (b) a polyol compound and water, the isocyanate compound is prereacted with the polyol compound to give a high-molecular weight water-soluble polyurethane prepolymer containing at least two terminal isocyanate groups in one molecule, crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) containing a polymeric component except MDI is used as a part of an isocyanate compound to be added afterwards with the water-soluble polyurethane prepolymer to give the water-swellable polyurethane foam having chemical resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
