PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed conduit laying machine for preventing the center of gravity from being arranged in the rear of a self-traveling car body, and arranging a suction pipe even on the corner side of a paddy field. SOLUTION: The self-traveling car body 1 travels on the ground surface by a crawler 11 driven by an engine, and has a drain layer part 2 for arranging the suction pipe 22 at the groove bottom of a recessed groove while excavating the recessed groove by advancing a groove making body 21 thrust in the ground and a cab 13. The engine is arranged in a front part of the self-traveling car body 1; the operation seat 13 is arranged in a rear part; and the drain layer part 2 is arranged in the middle between the engine and the cab 13. The center of gravity of the closed conduit laying machine becomes the central vicinity of the self-traveling car body 1, and travel stability can be improved by eliminating fear of floating a front part of the self-traveling car body 1. Since the self-traveling car body 1 can be brought near up to the corner E of the paddy field, the suction pipe 22 can be arranged to every corner of the paddy field. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
