PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culvert of excellent strength with few errors in product accuracy after construction while shortening construction work at a site. SOLUTION: A pair of sidewall members 3 of recessed cross section with leg parts 3c projected in a U-shape, and top slab members 5 are made of precast concrete. These pairs of sidewall members 3 are opposedly arranged at prescribed spaces on a foundation bottom slab 1, placing the U-shaped projected parts of the leg parts on the inside, and the sidewall members erected on both sides are adjacently arranged in large numbers through tension joints 6. The top slab members 5 are laid between the upper ends of the sidewall members 3, placing the recessed parts on the outside, and connection parts between the sidewall members 3 and the top slab members 5 are positioned by guide pins 4 and connected by the tension joints 6 to form a large-sized box frame. Reinforcements are assembled and spread around with prescribed width on the surface of the foundation bottom slab 1 between the sidewall members 3, and concrete of prescribed thickness is placed.
