PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator capable of lacing the coil end thereof, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A plurality of tooth cores 12, 12 are arranged substantially annularly at a specified interval in the circumferential direction, a stator winding 14 is wound between the tooth cores 12 and 12 and then a core back core is inserted between adjacent tooth cores 12 and 12 on the outer circumferential side thus forming an annular stator body 11. Subsequently, the stator body 11 is fitted in an annular holding ring 20 and the coil end 15 of the stator winding 14 wound between the tooth cores 12 and 12 is laced through a lacing hole 26 provided in the holding ring 20. Since a lacing needle can be inserted into the holding ring through the lacing hole from the radial outside of the holding ring after the stator body having the core back core inserted between the tooth cores applied with the stator winding is press fitted to the holding ring, a lacing member can be wound around the coil end contained in the holding ring. The coil end contained in the holding ring can thereby be laced easily without requiring any special jig and the manufacturing method can be simplified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
