PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for detecting and correcting a cause of a black stripe and white stripe-shaped defective pixel that occurs due to dust, etc., at the time of reading a transported original. SOLUTION: This image processor 1 reads a whiteboard 5a provided at a reading position of the transported original G before original reading or at prescribed timing, compares an image signal at the time of reading the whiteboard 5a with a prescribed specified value for each pixel to detect a defective pixel, and performs abnormality decision processing for deciding an abnormal state when the number of pixels of the defective pixels is equal to or greater than the regulated number of pixels or when the number of continuous defective pixels is the regulated number of continuous pixels. In addition, when an abnormal state is decided, a warning is notified or reference data for shading correction of a defective pixel position is changed and corrected. Then, when there is a defective pixel to the extent of being practically a problem, the warning is notified or the reference data is corrected, and image quality can be improved at a low cost while improving availability.
