摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic stopping device for an engine capable of increasing automatic stop frequency of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: This device is loaded on a vehicle 1 comprising an engine 2 formed that a throttle valve 12 is situated in an intake passage 11; and a brake booster 8 where a negative pressure generated in the intake passage 11 in company with operation of the throttle valve 12 is accumulated as a brake negative pressure Pb and which is operated based on the brake negative pressure Pb. When a given condition is established making it one condition that the brake negative pressure Pb reaches a demand level, an automatic stop of the engine during a stop of a vehicle is permitted. When a condition about the brake negative pressure Pb of a given condition is not established during a stop of a vehicle, a power transmission system extending from an engine 2 to a drive wheel 5 is forcibly brought into a non-transmission state.
