PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a liquid ejection head cartridge appropriately to the body of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The mechanism for fixing a liquid ejection head cartridge comprises an engaging means consisting of three head side fixing parts 61a, 61b and 61c provided at three points in a plane parallel with a nozzle plane 37 with each point being located at each vertex S1, S2, S3 of a specified triangle formed on the plane parallel with the nozzle plane, and three body side fixing parts 63a, 63b and 63c provided at three points in a plane parallel with the major surface of an object 2 located at an ejecting position with each point being located at each vertex S4, S5, S6 of a specified triangle formed on the plane parallel with the object, and a positioning means consisting of three head side fixing reference parts 62a, 62b and 62c of the same height having fixing reference surfaces 72a, 72b and 72c parallel with the nozzle plane 37, and three body side fixing reference parts 64a, 64b and 64c of the same height having fixing reference surfaces 75a, 75b and 75c parallel with the major surface of the object 2.
