<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an exact detection of a magnetic flux without read error, in such a constitution that a magnetic field of a magnet (change of polarity) is detected by a magnetic sensor through a hysteresis plate. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a reel base braking mechanism for braking the reel base for mounting a tape reel by utilizing a torque generated from the opposed magnet and hysteresis plate and the magnetic sensor for detecting the magnetic field of the above magnet through the hysteresis plate.
